Our COVID-19 Response and Policy at First Story Property Management

At First Story Property Management, our top priority has not changed ~ the care, safety and health of our customers and employees. We promise to make every effort to keep you informed on how we are doing everything we can to ensure the well-being of everyone we come in contact with, including both new renters & current occupants of the homes we manage, in addition to our investment property owners and vendors.
We continue to remain attuned to local and federal health officials, as well as the CDC (Center for Disease Control)
and we will do all we can to meet or exceed the guidelines they have provided, upgrading our protocol as we are apprised of new developments.
While our office is open, we have implemented the following steps immediately:
We have instructed our employees, vendors and property owners on our policies and procedures for protecting our customers, both current and future and have limited our contact with all practicing social distancing.
We have implemented the use of nitrile gloves, hand sanitizer and disinfectant in our office and will be limiting contact with others, depending on the need for a personal visit. We will keep the surfaces of our office sanitary, by the use of lysol wipes when others come in contact with equipment, keys, pens and other surfaces here.
Any employee exhibiting any sign of illness will be requested to quarantine themselves at home until they no longer display signs of illness (fever, coughing, sore throat, etc.) or are tested.
Until further notice, when showing both occupied and unoccupied homes: displaying any sign of illness will not be permitted inside the door and will politely be asked to reschedule the showing at a later date when obviously well.
- We will be limiting the number of people attending a showing, to a max of 2 at a time.
- We will practice social distancing, no personal contact (we are limiting handshaking, etc.) when greeting. (But we still love you!)
- We will practice frequent hand washing and highly recommend you do, as well.
- We will be entering the home using nitrile gloves and we will lysol wipe down any surfaces that we touch, such as light switches, door knobs often, etc.
- All prospects will be requested to keep their hands to themselves and not touch anything. As long as available, hand sanitizer will be offered after each showing.
- As it becomes necessary, as long as there is no health risk for our employees, we will offer video showings upon request, minimizing the contact between customer/client and staff members.
- For any upcoming move ins, we fortunately have an automated move in process, which minimizes personal contact. You will have two forms to sign with a sanitized pen, you will pay your rent online and show verification of utilities on in your name prior to arrival, keys will be issued in a sealed envelope after they are lysol wiped, and you may proceed to move into your new home.
- If you see or have a financial need related to your rent or lease, please call to let us know so that we can problem-solve with you before you feel you are in crisis mode. We are here to help.
Please continue to keep up your safe practices for staying healthy such as frequent hand washing and the use of hand sanitizer as your safety and well-being remain our foremost priority. We will continue to share any updates with you as quickly as they develop and they become available to us.
Meanwhile,... it's a great time to clean your home, wash linens, clean hard surfaces in bathrooms, kitchens and laundry rooms. It's also a time you can research things or learn how to improve our diets, etc. Here are a few fun articles to start:
Along with the rest of the world, we’ve been closely monitoring the ever changing status of COVID-19, also known as the Corona virus. This virus has certainly disrupted our daily habits and activities in the communities we reside in and serve, and for some has caused anxiety and uncertainty. We are here for owners and residents and those in our community. Please be safe and mindful of others.
